Referring a patient

If you would like to refer a patient for a vascular ultrasound scan at the InHealth Vascular Ultrasound Service, please contact the UCLH administrator on 0203 447 0211. 

• You identify the need for your patient to have a vascular ultrasound scan
• You complete the referral form (available here) and send it to the InHealth Vascular Ultrasound Service by post or email.
• The Service acknowledges receipt of the referral to you within 24 hours.
• The Service will contact the patient to arrange an appointment within 2 days of receiving the referral.
• Details of the appointment are posted to the patient with directions and a patient information leaflet within 1 business day of the appointment being made.
• The patient attends their appointment.

Following the patient’s investigation a diagnostic report will be issued. This will be sent direct to the referrer within 4 working days of the patient’s appointment unless requested sooner or if findings indicate the need for urgent follow up.

It is important to give your patient as much information as possible before their appointment.
