Patients across Slough and East Berkshire are now benefitting from quicker, easier access to vital tests with the official opening of the new Slough CDC. The £25 million centre, opened on Monday 2^nd March, will deliver up to 150,000 additional tests each year, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X ray, lung function and blood tests. Open seven days a week, the service is designed to reduce waiting times, bring care closer to home, ease pressure on hospitals, including Wexham Park and will support GPs and community clinics so urgent patients are cared for more rapidly.

InHealth is proud to have been selected as Frimley Health’s MRI delivery partner, providing fully staffed MRI services at Frimley Park (with 4 brand new MRI Scanners, 3 X 1.5Ts and 1 X 3T) and the new Slough CDC (with 2 brand new Scanners, 1 X 1.5T and 1 X 3T).

The 2 scanners at Slough will see up to 16,000 patients (24,000 scan areas) each year, enabling patients to have the scans close to home, avoiding the hospital visit. The scanners will be in operation 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The 4 scanners at Frimley Park will see 32,000 patients (48,000 scan areas) – both in-patients and out-patients – each year, in 2 new state-of-the art facilities open 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.

InHealth has a longstanding relationship with the Trust in providing MRI services and recently won a new 10-year contract to provide a 6-scanner MRI service. The 6 brand new Siemens scanners bring the very latest MRI technology to the Trust’s patients, ensuring the very best image quality and productivity available. One feature is Deep Resolve, an AI-powered, deep-learning image reconstruction technology that accelerates imaging speed.
