From 1st October 2022, people with diabetes in Birmingham, Solihull and Black Country (BSBC) will start to receive Diabetic Eye Screening delivered by InHealth Intelligence, who have successfully partnered with the NHS for over 10 years.

Eye Screening is a key part of diabetes care to check for diabetic retinopathy – a condition that can lead to sight loss if it is not detected early and treated. Everyone aged 12 and over with type 1 and type 2 diabetes receives an invitation for screening once a year.

The BSBC area joins our other highly successful Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes in Berkshire, Bristol, Essex, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, Devon, among others.

We are passionate about making these important services more accessible and they use our own unique software, Spectra, which brings a wealth of experience and innovation to programmes to support in the delivery of excellent patient care.

We will now work closely with the current programme provider to ensure a smooth handover before we begin delivering services on 1st October 2022.
