Social Value

Our commitment to Social Value

At InHealth, social value is at the heart of our mission to Make Healthcare Better. As a trusted partner to the NHS, we are committed not only to delivering high‑quality diagnostic and healthcare services, but also to making a positive and lasting difference for the people, communities and environments we serve. Our approach is rooted in partnership, inclusion and long‑term impact, supporting improved health outcomes while contributing to wider social, economic and environmental goals.

We are dedicated to operating sustainably and responsibly, aligned to NHS priorities and best practice. Our sustainability programme underpins how we reduce our environmental impact and support the transition to a net zero healthcare system, ensuring our services are delivered in a way that is resilient, ethical and future‑focused.

Supporting our communities is central to who we are. Each year, InHealth colleagues choose a charity partner to support through fundraising activities, alongside team‑led fundraising for causes that matter to them locally. This year, our charity partner is Children with Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to supporting families and childhood cancer research since 1988. In 2025, our teams supported over 5 charities, raising more than £15,000 for charitable causes. Colleagues are also encouraged to give back through our two full days of paid volunteering allowance, enabling them to contribute their time and skills to community initiatives that make a real difference.

Our previous Charity Partners

Charitable work our colleagues have been involved in

Frimley Imaging Centre team volunteering with Catalyst Support UK

Catalyst Support UK is a local charity supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people in Surrey. The team spent their volunteering day doing valuable maintenance work in the community garden!

Birmingham, Solihull and Black Country Diabetic Eye Screening team support Thrive Together Birmingham's Christmas Toy Appeal

The Birmingham, Solihull and Black Country Diabetic Eye Screening team supported Thrive Together, a charity cause based in Birmingham during their Christmas Toy Appeal. The team organised a toy collection and utilised their volunteering time to support this initiative.

Nottingham MRI Centre team raised over £900 for Parkinson's UK

In 2025, our charity partner of the year was Parkinson’s UK and our Nottingham MRI Centre team raised over £900 by completing the Derbyshire Three Peaks!

Weston and North Bristol Community Diagnostic Centre teams fundraised for The Grand Appeal

Our Weston and North Bristol Community Diagnostic Centre teams raised money for a local charity. The teams fundraised £437 for Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity, by taking part in a series of fundraising walks and collecting donations. The funds raised will help The Grand Appeal continue to provide the extra support that makes Bristol Children’s Hospital such a special place.

The Learning & Development team volunteered at the One Can Trust Food Bank

Our Learning & Development team spent one of their volunteering days at the One Can Trust Food Bank in High Wycombe helping sort donations ready for people to collect their packages. With the InHealth head office based in Beaconsfield, the One Can Trust Food Bank is a brilliant charity cause that directly supports the local community.

Oliva Sanchez used some of her volunteering time with Latin American Women’s Aid

Hear directly from Oliva all about her volunteering experience…

“I recently used a volunteering day to support Latin American Women’s Aid (LAWA) as a Spanish-English interpreter at one of their monthly pro-bono legal clinics.

LAWA supports Latin American women and children experiencing domestic abuse, providing emergency refuge accommodation, advocacy and access to specialist legal advice. During my visit, I worked in-person alongside a pro-bono solicitor and supported four women by interpreting during their legal advice appointments.

As a Mexican immigrant myself, this work is very close to my heart. My sisters are also immigrants in other countries and I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate legal systems in another language. Even when you speak English, being able to understand complex information in your own language can make a huge difference to confidence, trust and feeling in control.

This experience strongly connected with my daily work as Health Inequalities Improvement Coordinator in DESP, where language is a common key barrier to access our services. Seeing the same challenges outside of work, really reinforced that something that seems simple or small like language support, can have a big impact.

Being able to help women understand their rights, ask questions with confidence to make informed decisions was incredibly rewarding and reminded me how important language is in situations that directly affect safety and stability.”

Improving access to healthcare is a core part of our social value commitment. We work closely with the NHS and local partners to increase accessibility and capacity through innovation and community‑based delivery.

This includes mass screening events to support earlier diagnosis, digital booking solutions that make services easier to access, mobile diagnostic units, and Community Diagnostic Centres located in accessible community settings – bringing care closer to home for patients who need it most.

InHealth is committed to transparency and ethical behaviour in all our activities, making a positive social, economic and environmental contribution to the communities in which we operate.

We promote equality and diversity across the organisation, focussing on staff development and providing safeguards to ensure all employees are treated with respect.

Our employees are committed to corporate and social responsibilities in their day to day work, and through their work with charities, communities and environmental projects, and we ensure that environmental policy is continually reviewed to ensure that it reflects changes in regulation and best practice.

As part of a renewed sustainability strategy, our goal is to set a net zero pathway that ultimately drives our total greenhouse gas emissions to equal or less than the emissions that we remove from the environment.

We also fully support the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap, which charts a route towards a net zero healthcare system. As a trusted NHS partner and in line with the roadmap, we will publicly report emissions and publish a carbon reduction plan aligned to the NHS’ net zero target, for both our direct and indirect emissions.

Over the next 5 years, at InHealth we commit to:

R

Focusing on travel and moving to electric vehicles wherever we can

R

Exploring, investing in and implementing the latest technologies, which deliver improved outcomes for patients while having a positive impact on the environment

R

Reducing our energy and fuel costs

As we strive to create a cleaner, brighter and greener future, our Sustainability and IT teams have been working hard to implement a new environmental and energy management system.

We are delighted that all our efforts have resulted in us becoming ISO14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO50001 (Energy Management) certified.
